DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704), a global leader in cybersecurity solutions and one of the 50 best companies to sell for in the US, is dedicated to fostering a healthy work environment and providing robust health benefits for all its employees. Trend Micro has implemented various initiatives for new parents to ease these employees back into their work schedules without affecting the new member of the family. The latest program is adhering to “Silver” level Mother-Friendly Worksites designated by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Both Trend Micro worksites in Irving and Austin, Texas have been awarded the Silver designation.
As part of this initiative, Trend Micro has joined a growing number of Mother-Friendly employers across the state who proactively support employees who choose to breastfeed their infants by providing time, space and other support to maintain breastfeeding after returning to work.
Created by the Texas Legislature in 1995 and administered by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), the Texas Mother-Friendly Worksite Program recognizes employers with written policies reflecting the support for their breastfeeding employees. Such policies provide work schedule flexibility to allow for milk expression breaks, offer a private space other than bathrooms for pumping or breastfeeding and ensure easy access to a clean water sources and hygienic milk storage arrangements.
“We want to support our employees in every way possible to facilitate a smooth and seamless transition back into the workplace after welcoming a new member of the family,” said Bob Kedrosky, senior human resources director, Trend Micro Americas. “We also want new mothers to know that we support their decision to continue breastfeeding their infants for as long as they choose to. We are extremely pleased to be designated as a Texas Mother-Friendly Worksite. This is a standard we hold for all our employee-populated facilities across all of North America.”
Texas Mother-Friendly worksites can be categorized into Regular, Silver or Gold based on facility factors provided by the employers, as well as other components related to employment sectors, settings and worksite sizes.
