Chinese cyber criminals are increasingly targeting smartphone users through underground products and services, a report by Trend Micro reveals

Security researchers said they have uncovered bugs in Google's Android operating system that could allow malicious apps to send vulnerable devices into a spiral of endlessly looping crashes and possibly delete all data stored on them.

Independent test lab AV-Test Institute compared 34 anti-malware/Internet security products for home and business users on Windows 7 64-bit. Trend Micro came out on top for business; Bitdefender, Kaspersky and Qihoo for consumer.

An updated version of a malicious software package designed to automate the process of hacking websites is being offered up on underground markets for $3,800 a year, according to a blog by Trend Micro.
