On Monday, US officials announced the arrest of more than 90 people allegedly connected to an organization called Blackshades, which sold software that allows hackers to easily take over a Microsoft Windows computer remotely.

EBay users are being advised to change their passwords after hackers compromised some employees’ log-in credentials to break into the eBay corporate network.

eBay – a company that is entrusted with millions of people's personal data – is asking users to change their passwords in the wake of a cyber-attack that compromised encrypted passwords and other “non-financial” data.

Facebook users whose accounts that may be compromised will be offered antivirus scanning and removal from the site, using F-Secure and Trend Micro security.

Facebook has integrated new security capabilities into its abuse detection and prevention systems, so that users are immediately alerted when they log into their accounts from infected devices.
