Social media companies are juggling account security and recovery — and failing users in the process

Trend Micro on Monday announced its zero-trust strategy, which will focus on a comprehensive understanding of a company’s risk profile.

The cybersecurity threats landscape is growing and increasing its negative impacts on companies, with cybercrime causing nearly $1 trillion in damage in 2020, according to “The Hidden Costs of Cybercrime” report by McAfee. 

As a response, there will be nearly 3.5 million open cybersecurity jobs around the world waiting to be filled this year, with over 500,000 open positions in the United States alone.

Banks, however, have experienced the highest volume of ransomware attacks this year.

Though overall ransomware attack volumes dipped in the first half of this year, the number of campaigns involving three and four extortion methods increased.

The cybercriminals are now indiscriminate in the operating systems they attack.

Trend Micro managed security services bundles span XDR, incident response and other security services sold directly to end-customers. 

New flaw is one among several that have been disclosed in the software over the past several months.
